What We’re Sippin’ – June 2016

Bring on those summer beers. As the weather warms up, we’ll take them all. This is what we’re sippin’ on this month in North Carolina…

CATAWBA ASTRAL BOOTIE BEER – We mainly like this because it has ‘bootie’ in the name. Bootie Beer is a session IPA uses three different malt varieties for body, and Citra and Amarillo hops for bright tropical, stone fruit flavors and aromas.

DESTIHL WiLD SOUR SERIES – HERE GOSE NOTHIN’ – Lemony and other citrus-like qualities are present in aroma and on the palate as well as the spicy character of added coriander and some mineral-mouthfeel from added sea salt as is traditionally common in this style. The beer’s lactic acid character is evident as a sharp, refreshing sourness, and is typically enjoyed fresh, carbonated and cloudy with yeast character. Check out the entire series here.

ANDERSON VALLEY SUMMER SOLSTICE – Summer Solstice Seasonal Ale is not just your average summer seasonal. This unique copper colored ale is smooth, malty, and lightly sweet, with a delicate hint of spice for that oh-so-drinkable, extra velvety flavor.

UNKNOWN BREWERY GINGER WHEAT – The name says it all. That simple. No really, that simple. Ginger drops of heaven, creamy smooth wheat. Now go out and live! Ginger Wheat has all the wonderful light citrus mouth feel of our No Shame wheat with the addition of just the right amount of ginger to have a light, creamy finish with bursts of flavor.

UINTA BREWING HOP NOSH – Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavors, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. Hop Nosh is balanced with a strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.
