From Flower to Flute: An Afternoon at Heidrun Meadery

In beautiful Point Reyes Station, just north of San Francisco lives Heidrun Meadery, a picturesque meadery, apiary and bee forage farmscape, complete with a tasting room serving mead produced from flowers and bees on-site. Mead is created by fermenting honey with water (and sometimes a few special ingredients like fruit, grain or spices), and falls in its own category of alcoholic beverages somewhere between wine and beer. Heidrun Meadery produces a number of naturally sparkling varietal meads, all dependent on the essence of the honey and flowers from which it is derived.
